Abstracts & Resident Research Competition Submissions
The South Carolina Orthopaedic Association is now accepting abstract submissions and Resident Research Competition submissions for the 2024 SCOA Annual Meeting taking place August 1-3, 2024, at the Sanctuary in Kiawah Island.
Instructions for abstract submissions and the Resident Research Competition submissions are below. All General Session podium presentations will be 7 minutes in length with 3 additional minutes for question and answer.

To be considered by the Program Committee, please complete the following steps by February 4, 2024:

Submission Guidelines:
- Case reports are not accepted.
- The abstract must include: a) Purpose, unless stated in the title, b) Description of Methods, c) Summary of Results, d) Conclusion.
- Simple tables or graphs may be included as uploads in the Additional Documentation section of the online form. Do not cite references. Omit P values.
- Indicate the institution where the work was done. Include degree of the author(s). Mailing addresses and phone numbers required for listed author(s).
- If an abstract is submitted under a practicing physician’s name, SCOA expects that physician to present the paper if the abstract is selected. Papers that will be presented by residents should be submitted under the resident’s name.
- Attending physicians cited on resident submissions must be SCOA members.
- Nonproprietary (generic) names of drugs are required and should be written in lower case. Proprietary names are capitalized.
