The South Carolina Orthopaedic Association is now accepting abstract submissions and Resident Research Competition submissions for the 2019 SCOA Annual Meeting. The 2019 Annual Meeting is taking place August 1-4, 2019 at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island. 

All abstracts and Resident Competition papers must be submitted by March 31, 2019 to be considered by the Program Committee. Instructions for regular abstract submissions and the 2019 Resident Research Competition are below.
In addition to the abstract information, all submissions should be accompanied by a completed AAOS Financial Disclosure Form and an AAOS FDA Disclosure Form. 
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:  March 31, 2019

Abstract Submission Instructions

  1. ORGANIZE: the body of the abstract to include: a) Purpose, unless stated in the title, b) Description of methods, c) Summary of methods, d) Conclusion.
  2. TYPE: abstracts on the form provided within space allotted. You may also submit abstracts via email in a word document.  Please make sure all requested information on the submission form is included on the word document.  Abstracts may be emailed to cpope@cobbemanagement.com
  3. STYLE:   Simple tables or graphs may be included. Do not cite references. Omit P values. Submit form, completed in full. Please check your work prior to submission. The SCOA is not responsible for proofreading.
  4. AUTHOR INFORMATION: Indicate the institution where the work was done. Include degree of the author(s). Complete mailing addresses and phone numbers required for listed authors.
  5. DRUG NAMES: Nonproprietary (generic) names of drugs are required and should be written in lower case. Proprietary names are capitalized.
  6. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: It is mandatory that the completed FDA Disclosure Form and AAOS Financial Disclosure Form are returned with your original abstract. These forms can be downloaded from the SCOA website or by contacting the SCOA office. The abstract should be emailed or provided on a CD or flash drive.
  7. ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS: Return one (1) original abstract, author page, FDA Disclosure Form, AAOS Financial Disclosure Form, and your abstract to the SCOA office. The deadline for submission is March 31, 2019.
  8.  NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: Abstracts will be forwarded to the program committee for review. You will be notified of acceptance by the end of April. The SCOA reserves the right to withdraw a paper at any time.
  9.  DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: March 31, 2019

All General Session Presentations will be 7 minutes in length with 3 additional minutes for question and answer.
